My brother-In-Law has a brother who has naturally red hair, freckles, blueeyes, and pale skin. I have naturally red hair, pale skin, green eyes, and very few freckles. We both dye our hair the same color, though, and it looks great. It's a very dark brown, almost black, usually refered to on haircolor boxes as "natural black". It's not so black that it looks fake, and the contrast between the light skin and eyes against the dark hair is quite striking.

i suggest you go to a respectable stylist and add some subtle carmel hightlights ... nothing too drastic but that will accentuate your red. don't try and do it yourself or have a friend, spend the money have it done the right way ... you will be a lot happier!

You may want to try more than one shade at a time to. you can ask your stylist for more then one color. I would try different shades of blonde. do not use just one shade all around if it is a blunt color because it will look completely fake.

if i were you id go with a dark brown color now black black but a noticable dark brown! dont go to dark cuz it will look weird seen as you said you were a pale skin tone! but thats just my opinion, oh and get it done at a salon if this is your first time

i would start off with a semi permanant colour ( i would try loreal castings colour mabye no: 34 or 20 ) and if it turns out crap it will come out quicker (this is becuase it washes out instead of growing out) , it is probably better to colour your hair only 1 to 2 shades lighter or darker as you can then gradually alter your hair colour without to dramatic a result.
