I'm going to a Christmas party in Dec, and am wondering if using a smokey-type green eyeshadow is okay for someone with blue eyes and blonde hair. I'm wearing a black cocktail dress, and don't want to do the usual black smokey eyed look. I'm very light skinned, and don't want to use purples or pinks because it makes me feel like my eyes look black.
The green won't be anything over the top (not really dark green), but just some darker green eyeliner with a few shades of green with some shimmer.
Are smokey green eyes a no-no for blue eyed, blondes?
It depends on the green. I've read that wearing eyeshadow the colour of the little flecks in your eye will bring them out. I'm not sure if that's true, but it's something you could try. Just try doing your makeup that way, and if you like it, then wear it to the party. You've got a whole month to try out all sorts of looks =)
And I know you don't like purple, but I've gotta say....I just started using a lavendar colour shadow all over my eye, and a darker purple on the lid with charcoal eyeliner and I absolutely love what it does for my eyes! I have bluish green eyes, and I think it makes them look more blue. Maybe the purple you were trying wasn't the right shade?
But, it definitely depends on the shade of your eyes. Blue eyes can come in so many different shades. Would you say yours are more on the greener side of blue, or on the greyer?

I'm blonde and blue-eyed, and for smoky eyes I do a really shimmery dark brown. It looks amazing and I always get compliments on it.
